In a relentless effort to disrupt terror support networks in Jammu and Kashmir, the State Investigation Agency (SIA) conducted targeted searches at 22 locations, comprising 18 in Srinagar, 01 each in Anantnag and Pulwama, along with 02 in Delhi. Special teams, operating simultaneously, executed the pre-dawn searches aimed at dismantling the infrastructure supporting illicit activities.
The search operations yielded significant findings, including incriminating material such as bank documents, cash books, credit cards, debit cards, cheque books, invoices, mobile phones, sim cards, and passports. These seized items will undergo thorough analysis as part of the ongoing investigation.
The case under scrutiny involves the illegal raising, layering, and laundering of proceeds of crime, suspected to have been utilized in unlawful activities, including secessionism and terrorism. The investigation, initiated at SIA Kashmir, unraveled a financial web involving transactions amounting to INR 85 crores within a span of less than two years. Notably, these transactions were predominantly conducted in cash to evade detection by law enforcement agencies.
FIR No 08 of 2023 was registered based on the findings of the enquiry, leading to today’s coordinated raids. The search warrants, issued by the Hon’ble Special Designated NIA Court, empowered the SIA to collect crucial evidence relevant to the ongoing investigation.
The State Investigation Agency reaffirms its unwavering commitment to dismantle the terror ecosystem in J&K, targeting all facets of terror financing channels, including hawala, human cash couriers, and banking channels. This strategic initiative underscores the determined efforts to curb illegal activities, safeguard national security, and foster peace in the region.
