A meeting was held today at Shri Akal Takht Sahib, involving the leaders of five Takhts. This meeting, presided over by Gyani Raghbir Singh, marked the first of its kind under his leadership. During this gathering, significant decisions were made concerning five different cases.
Notably, they imposed a ban on destination weddings and declared same-sex marriages in Bathinda as void. Additionally, they have deemed the managing committee responsible for these decisions incompetent, and ordered fresh elections for the Amritdhari Managing Committee. In another decision, Gyani Raghbir Singh took a stern stance on the issue of unauthorized relations of the Dera head with a woman.
He insisted that the Dera head is not entitled to perform Kirtan until he publicly acknowledges his transgressions and seeks forgiveness. Any violation of this directive will result in appropriate actions in accordance with religious protocol. Two Gurudwaras faced disciplinary action against their members.
Jagjeet Singh Suga, who obstructed the election process of the Indore-based Gurudwara Singh Sabha, was repeatedly summoned but failed to appear. Consequently, his membership was revoked until he resolves the Gurudwara election dispute.
Similarly, in the case of Gurudwara Singh Sabha Dassuha Hoshiarpur, the managing committee was unresponsive to multiple summons. Therefore, a new managing committee comprising of Pradhan Parmjeet Singh, General Secretary Joginder Singh, and Secretary Kamalpreet Singh has been appointed to oversee the Gurudwara’s affairs.
