Sanjay Raut, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP, announced that party leader Uddhav Thackeray would participate in the I.N.D.I.A. meeting in Delhi at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence on Wednesday.
In the aftermath of the Congress’s electoral setbacks in three states, Shiv Sena (UBT) took a swipe at Kamal Nath for overlooking alliance parties like the Samajwadi Party in Madhya Pradesh.
Raut expressed concern that within the I.N.D.I.A. bloc, comprising significant parties like the Congress, the smaller state parties are not adequately consulted. An editorial in Saamna further criticized the BJP for orchestrating the victory in three states, attributing it to the coordinated efforts of the Prime Minister, Home Minister, ED, CBI, and income tax.
The editorial accused Kamal Nath of deviating from the rules of the INDIA bloc, stating that the Congress’s regional leaders undermined the efforts of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi. It highlighted Kamal Nath’s control over ticket distribution within the Congress.
Questioning why Modi couldn’t secure a win in Telangana, the editorial remarked that the BJP fell short of even 10 seats in the state, while the Congress achieved a clear majority.
It suggested that if the Congress had collaborated more effectively within the I.N.D.I.A. alliance, the electoral performance would have been more favorable. The editorial concluded by urging a learning opportunity from the situation and emphasized the need for better preparation for the 2024 elections.
