On the lines of Thane, 32 party corporators of Navi Mumbai extended support to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

The mass exodus in Shiv Sena continued, and there was another jolt to the Uddhav Thackeray where 32 party corporators of Navi Mumbai extended support to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in Thane on Thursday.

One of the former Shiv Sena Corporator of Navi Mumbai, Suresh Kulkarni thanked chif minister and said, “Eknath Shinde has stood by us whenever we need it, and his style of working is attracting him and everyone else. We will be with him. He never declined anybody’s phone call.”

Earlier in June, Eknath Shinde launched a revolt against the party, leading to the MVA government’s collapse.

However, on Thursday, Shinde formally took charge of the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO)in the presence of Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis. On Monday, Shinde also won the floor test in which 164 MLAs voted for the confidence motion. In contrast, 99 voted against it, and three legislators abstained from voting in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.

Notably, a day prior, Udhhav Thackeray quit the CM post, and with the support of the BJP, Shinde became the 20th chief minister of Maharashtra. On June 30, Shinde was sworn in as the 20th Chief Minister of Maharashtra, and Devendra Fadnavis took oath as the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra.
