In May 2022, PM Narendra Modi met former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe during Quad Summit in Tokyo.

Moreover, Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi also expressed his shock over the attack on Abe.

Meanwhile, over the attack on Abe, the current Japanese PM, Fumio Kishida, reacted and said, “Barbaric, malicious & it can’t be tolerated. We’ll do everything we can…At this moment, doctors are working very hard to save Mr. Abe.”

Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was shot in the chest in western Japan on Friday at around 11:30 am. He has been rushed to the Nara Medical University Hospital in Kashihara City, where he is reportedly in cardiopulmonary arrest.

According to The Japan Times, the accused man has been arrested by the police and has been identified as Tetsuya Yasmagami, 41-year-old resident of Nara city.

Notably, Shinzo Abe is a Japanese politician and became prime minister of Japan twice, from 2006-2007 and again from 2012-2020.
