Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha joined forces on Sunday to express their determination to avenge the deaths of Army and Police officers in a recent encounter in Anantnag. They pledged that terrorists responsible for the attack would face a resolute response.
Shinde spoke about the tragic incident, acknowledging the sacrifices made by police and military personnel in safeguarding the nation’s borders, which enable citizens to celebrate festivals and lead their lives without fear. He condemned the incident and assured that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would ensure that every drop of blood is accounted for, promising that the terrorists responsible would face the consequences.
The encounter in Anantnag resulted in the loss of several lives, including Colonel Manpreet Singh, Commanding Officer of 19 Rashtriya Rifles, Major Ashish Dhonchak, Deputy Superintendent of Jammu and Kashmir Police Humayun Bhat, and a soldier.
