Sherrnavaz Jijina has impressed fans with her portrayal of Shabnam in ‘Mirzapur’ Season 3, which premiered on Prime Video on July 5. The series is synonymous with bloodshed and gore. The third installment continues this trend. In an exclusive interview with ‘The Daily Guardian’, Sherrnavaz said that she was “shocked” by the show’s violent content She also praised the team for putting in extra effort to do justice to the action scenes.
“The violence obviously shocked me. I was scared if this would work. Every scene is gory and realistic. I have not been part of the violent scenes but based on what I saw on the screen the team has really worked hard on it” she said
Interestingly, Sherrnavaz Jijina is no stranger to the world of ‘Mirzapur’. She was part of the previous installments but has a stronger arc this time. She said that the new season will highlight Shabnam’s rise as her family’s “son”.
“The arc is stronger. Shabnam has now become the son of the family and carrying out trades on her father’s behalf. She is still a bit gullible and believes that some people have her best interests at heart. Of course, she eventually learns that she is all alone. It is heartbreaking to play the character as she has seen so many losses. However, it is also satisfying to see her rise,” said the actor.
She added that the Mirzapur team has become like a “family” for her, which made the shoot even more memorable.
“It was extremely overwhelming to return to this world. We received such a lot of love in the first two seasons. The team has always been like a family. In fact, it has become a second home. It is also almost as if we never left,” said Sherrnavaz.
‘Mirzapur’ premiered in 2018 and became the talk of the town with its intense narrative. The first season ended on a brutal note with several murders. The second season was an equally brutal affair, which ended with Munna’s murder. Mirzapur 3 focuses on the events that unfold when Guddu tries to emerge as the undisputed ‘bahubali’ of Purvanchal.
