Shakira was performing her new song called Soltera at Miami’s LIV nightclub when she made an unexpected exit from the stage after noticing an unknown male filming under her dress. The Colombian singer was dancing on a small stage in a sequin outfit when she noticed the intrusive filming. A clip of Shakira abruptly leaving the stage has been spreading widely on social media, where many of her fans condemned the man’s actions as ‘creepy’ and ‘shameful’.

At a club one evening, Shakira, visibly uncomfortable, noticed a man filming up her dress. In a video taken by someone in the audience, she appears to gesture at the man to angle his camera further up, to her face rather than at a low angle shot. Within minutes, Shakira left the stage and was seen chatting with security and fans in the VIP area.

Twitter reactions

Reactions on Twitter were swift, with outraged users weighing in on the news. This is a very shameful act. Is there any humanity left in these people?” Another wrote, “Shakira, the famous Shakira, can’t even dance on her own song without getting sexually harassed and look at the caption, people were filming.Men are gross, they ruin everything good!!” Another comment read, “Shakira leaves the stage after people were filming under her dress whilst she was dancing to her new single. People are GROSS.”

Other tweets pinned the need for respect and respect to privacy of artists, with one saying “That is really pathetic behavior. Artists deserve respect and privacy even in performing life. It must be ensured that everyone feels safe. End. ” Another said “Very shameful that Shakira was used in a live program. An X user also called out man recording Shakira, giving the vibe of being ‘creepy’.

In May of this year, Shakira released her 12th studio album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran (Women Don’t Cry Anymore), which marks her first album in seven years. Shakira has relocated to the US with her children after reportedly ending her relationship with former Spanish footballer Gerard Piqué in June 2022. They have been together for a little more than 11 years.
