In a surprising turn of events during his visit to poll-bound Karnataka, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has caused quite a stir within the state’s BJP party. During a breakfast meeting at the residence of former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, Shah chose to accept a flower bouquet from Yediyurappa’s son, B Y Vijayendra, instead of the senior party member himself.
The move has garnered much attention as some within the party see Vijayendra as Yediyurappa’s political heir apparent, with speculation rising that he may be heading for a bigger role in the upcoming Assembly elections, due by May.
Upon his arrival, Yediyurappa stepped forward to offer the bouquet to Shah, but the Home Minister surprised everyone by telling him to give it to his younger son instead. Shah then chose to accept the bouquet from Vijayendra, leaving many in the party speculating about the significance of this gesture.
This development has added another layer of intrigue to the already heated political atmosphere in Karnataka, as the BJP prepares to face the upcoming Assembly elections. The move by Shah is seen by some as a signal that the party is considering Vijayendra for a bigger role, which could have major implications for Yediyurappa and his political future within the party.
