Shah Rukh Khan has reached an incredible milestone by being the first Indian actor to have two entries in the Rs 1,000 crore club in the same year, breaking his own record and surpassing Pathaan’s box office earnings with Jawan.

As per Red Chillies’ social media page, after Sunday’s collection, the SRK actioner has grossed Rs 1004.92 crore globally. On its eighteenth day, the film earned Rs 15 crore in India net for all languages, bringing the total domestic collection to Rs 560.83 crore, reported industry tracker Sacnilk.

Jawan maintained a 33.64 percent Hindi occupancy on Sunday. Jawan is directed by Atlee, who is known for his work in Tamil cinema. Notably, the film continues to perform strongly in Tamil-speaking regions even after 18 days of release, with a 46.92 percent Tamil occupancy on Sunday and a 24.86 percent Telugu occupancy.

Entertainment industry tracker Ramesh Bala commended Shah Rukh Khan for achieving this milestone and wrote, ” @iamsrk will become the first Indian movie star to have two entries in the 1,000 Crs Club! He has achieved that remarkable feat in the same calendar year – 2023. A feat that will remain in record books for a long time.”

In a recent interview with Film Companion, Atlee was asked about his transition from Tamil to Hindi cinema and his comfort working with Shah Rukh Khan. Atlee humorously responded that he was as comfortable as Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan, would have been directing him.

He stated, “You have to ask Shah Rukh sir whether he was comfortable. Because we were talking in Tamil. We were talking in Telugu and Malayalam. But he is a king by himself. I know that. And he was enjoying the process. He was just going behind everyone and saying, ‘Let’s do it.’ I’m not just saying this for the sake of an interview.
