Shah Rukh Khan is set to travel to the US for medical treatment after a recent procedure in Mumbai did not go as planned. The actor, who suffered a heat stroke on May 21 while attending an IPL match in Ahmedabad, had been hospitalized briefly but was discharged the next day.

According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Shah Rukh will fly to the US by Tuesday, July 30, to address an eye treatment issue. A source mentioned that Shah Rukh visited a Mumbai hospital on July 29 for eye treatment, but the procedure did not go as expected, prompting the need for further treatment in the US. Details about the specific treatment and what went wrong have not been disclosed.

During the IPL, Shah Rukh, who co-owns the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), was in Ahmedabad where he was hospitalized for severe dehydration. His co-star and KKR co-owner Juhi Chawla, along with her husband Jay Mehta and Shah Rukh’s wife, Gauri Khan, visited him in the hospital.

Juhi later reassured fans that Shah Rukh was recovering and expected to return to cheering for his team soon. Shah Rukh Khan’s latest film was Dunki (2023), and he is currently working on Sujoy Ghosh’s film King.
