The inclusion of the Aam Aadmi Party in a proposed anti-BJP front may face more roadblocks, despite AAP leader and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal cozying up to the Congress. AAP has found it difficult to react to Union Home Minister Amit Shah heaping praise on the Punjab government for the incident-free arrest of Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh. Last month, Amit Shah asked Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann to take quick action to apprehend Amritpal. It is believed that central agencies and forces played a role in the arrest of Amritpal Singh, a decision that the Punjab CM took all by himself. Mann also spoke out against the previous Congress government’s decision to defend UP’s don-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari’s continued stay in a Punjab jail. Delhi Congress leader Ajay Maken has come out strongly against taking AAP together.
