The sewage treatment plant in Maloya, Chandigarh, has been awarded ISO certification for quality management in sewage water treatment. This is the second ISO certification for MCCH after the C&D Processing Plant received certification in October 2022. The ISO 9001:2015 certification recognizes MCCH’s services in sewage water treatment, including design and development of products and services (Section 8.3) and properties related to external providers and customers (Section 8.5.3). The certification is valid until November 23, 2026. Municipal Commissioner Anindita Mitra shared this good news with the citizens of City Beautiful. Earlier, a team of analysts conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the sewage treatment plant in Maloya, Chandigarh. MCCH was proud to receive ISO certification for the quality services provided for the C&D Processing Plant. Mitra stated that to ensure quality services for the citizens of City Beautiful, MCCH will strive to obtain ISO certification for all its services/projects in the future. He emphasized that this recognition is truly for the commendable work of each employee involved in the process. He mentioned that MCCH has completed the upgradation of all six sewage treatment plants using Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR) technology. The STPs in 3 BRD, Dhanas, Raipur Khurd, Raipur Kalan, Diggian, and Maloya have recently been upgraded and are in their testing phases.
