Even as Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is facing the charges in the MUDA scam, several of the state party leaders have written to Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi pointing out that six leaders of the party are making statements claiming the post of Chief Minister instead of fighting against BJP & JDS and it is demoralizing the hopes of party workers in the government and the party.

In a letter dated September 10, 15 party leaders said pointed out that as you know that with the great efforts of our party leaders and workers Congress came to power in Karnataka by winning 135 seats out of 224 Assembly seats in 2023 elections.

Thry also mentioned that as assured by party all five guarantees — Shakthi, Anna Bhagya, Gruhalakshmi, Gruha Jyothi, and Yuva Nidhi — have been implemented by spending more then Rs 58,000 crore per year.

They said that the people of Karnataka have been very much happy and supporting Congress to a greater extent.

They also pointed out that consequently, Congress won nine parliamentary (Lok sabha) seats in 2024 elections as against the claim of BJP and JDS that they will win all the 28 seats.

“The BJP and JDS jointly have taken it very seriously and want to destabilize our elected Government in Karnataka,” the party leaders said.

Highlighring the case against Siddaramaiah, the Congress leaders in there letter said, “All of a sudden they have taken up the issue of “MUDA” against Siddaramaiah, even though there is no role of the Chief Minister. They have managed to get sanction from Karnataka Governor for enquiring in regard to allotment of 14 sites as against 3.16 acres of land belonging to Siddaramaiah’s wife Parvathamma.

They said that the sanction order of the Governor has been challenged by Siddaramaiah before the High Court.

“The court has ordered not to precipitate the issue during the pendency of the matter before court and has been hearing the matter on merits expeditiously,” they said, adding that in this background the BJP and JDS Party leaders jointly have been vehemently demanding the resignation of the Siddaramaiah, from the post of Chief Minister.

“In this Political Scenario, more than six leaders including senior Ministers are issuing statements claiming the post of Chief Minister instead of fighting against BJP and JDS,” they said.

“Due to this many of our leaders and workers are getting demoralized and losing their hopes in the Government and the party. Similarly people of Karnataka are slowly losing their faith and confidence with our Party and Government, because of infighting and reckless statements of our leaders. The State Government’s Administration too has been hampered to a great extent,” they highlighted.

Therefore, we appeal to your esteemed office to take note of the statements issued by the said leaders and warn them and also direct them not to issue such damaging statements in the future in the interest.of the party, they demanded.
