In a harrowing revelation, Valsad police have uncovered the chilling details of a series of heinous crimes committed by 30-year-old Rahul alias Bholu Karmvir Ishwar Jat. Arrested on November 25, Jat stands accused of the rape and murder of a 19-year-old college student near Udvada railway station on November 14. Investigations have further linked him to multiple murders across various states, exposing a disturbing pattern of violence and necrophilia.
The Udvada Incident
On the afternoon of November 14, the victim was returning home from tuition, walking along a path adjacent to the railway tracks near Udvada railway station. Engaged in a phone conversation, she was ambushed by Jat, who smothered her to silence any cries for help. He then dragged her into a nearby mango orchard, where he brutally raped and strangled her.
After committing the murder, Jat left the scene, leaving his luggage behind—a deliberate act indicating his intention to return. He proceeded to Udvada railway station, where he purchased a fruit salad and a water bottle. Disturbingly, he later returned to the crime scene and engaged in necrophilia with the victim’s corpse. When the victim’s friends and family arrived in search of her, Jat hid behind bushes, observing their distress. The presence of people eventually forced him to flee, abandoning his belongings.
Investigation Breakthrough
The abandoned luggage proved to be a crucial lead. Police meticulously reviewed CCTV footage from nearby railway stations, identifying Jat at Vapi railway station carrying the same bag. This evidence, combined with the recognition of Jat by a staff member from Lajpore Central Jail in Surat, led to his apprehension.
During a crime scene reconstruction on November 26, Jat detailed his actions and escape route, providing vital information for the ongoing investigation.
A Trail of Murders
Under interrogation, Jat confessed to four additional murders committed between October and November:
These crimes had remained unsolved until Jat’s arrest shed light on his violent spree.
Official Statements
A police officer involved in the case stated, “He returned to the spot to have intercourse with the corpse again. Police are working to collect evidence to establish this gruesome crime.”
Ongoing Investigation
Authorities are now coordinating with police departments across Karnataka, West Bengal, Telangana, and Maharashtra to gather further evidence and ascertain the full extent of Jat’s criminal activities. The Valsad police’s diligent efforts have not only solved the tragic case of the young college student but have also unveiled a series of previously undetected murders, bringing a dangerous serial killer to justice.
