The Senior Citizens Council is set to take a new step to enhance the health services for more than 40 thousand elderly people in the district. This initiative involves door-to-door contact with the elderly, and arrangements will be made for their healthcare when necessary.

Many elderly folks don’t have somebody to take care of them when they live alone. In order to solve this, a group will be established in each industry to care for the elderly and gather data so that health benefits may be awarded appropriately. There won’t be any obstacles to the facilities and funds needed for this project. At least once a week, routine checks on the welfare of the elderly will be made.

To entertain and assist these senior citizens, the Panchkula Senior Citizens Council will host games and other events. A group led by Dr. GS Chahal, AC Mehta, Vijay Kumar, Suraj Prakash Vij, Ashok Bhandari Nadir, and others interacted with older folks in Sector-4 of Panchkula on Thursday as part of this campaign. They asked how the members were doing and exhorted them to look after themselves. The goal, according to Dr. GS Chahal, is to reach as many people as they can.

Ashok Bhandari Nadir of the Senior Citizens Council stated that this is the initial phase, focusing on providing maximum information to senior citizens. He mentioned that there is also an OPD in the Senior Citizens Council in Sector 15, with plans for an upgrade in the works.
