A massive anti-terror operation has been initiated by security forces in the Muradpur area of Rajouri district after a student reported the presence of four suspicious individuals, one of whom was seen wearing a camouflage uniform.
According to a senior official from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, searches are underway in Muradpur, Bathuni, Afla, and neighboring areas, conducted jointly by security forces. The student’s input triggered the operation, with forces responding to reports that all four suspects were carrying bags, and one was dressed in a uniform resembling that of security forces.
This area has been flagged for suspicion before; in the second week of December last year, suspects were observed in the same vicinity. Two days later, a tragic attack occurred, resulting in the loss of two civilian lives, according to Indian Army reports. Subsequently, the Dhangri attack unfolded, claiming the lives of seven Hindus after terrorists targeted individuals post ID card verification in Rajouri.
Adding to the prevailing concerns, a similar incident transpired yesterday in Pidi village of Kotranka in Rajouri. Suspects reportedly knocked on the gate of a village defense committee member, prompting the member to fire shots. The suspects swiftly fled the scene.
The recurrence of suspicious activities underscores the persistent security challenges faced by the region. Security forces are on high alert, intensifying efforts to neutralize potential threats and prevent any recurrence of violence. Local cooperation is paramount, and authorities urge residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies.
As the anti-terror operation unfolds, the safety and security of the community remain top priorities. Security forces are committed to a swift and effective response to potential threats, prioritizing the well-being of the residents in the region.
