Kupwara, July 27: Security forces successfully foiled another infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the killing of one terrorist. Unfortunately, 3 army personnel were injured in the encounter, with two reported to be in critical condition.
Sources reveal that Indian Army troops stationed in the Machil sector of Kupwara detected suspicious movement of terrorists attempting to infiltrate. The area was swiftly cordoned off, and an alert was issued. When the terrorists noticed the forces, they launched an attack, which was met with a strong retaliatory response from the troops. One terrorist was killed in the ensuing exchange. The operation continues as forces work to eliminate all infiltrators.
This incident marks the fourth infiltration attempt thwarted by vigilant Indian Army troops along the LoC this month. The second attempt was thwarted in the Lolab area of Kupwara, where one terrorist was killed, and one army jawan was martyred. The third attempt occurred on July 23 in the Nagi Tekri area of Poonch, where forces thwarted another infiltration, resulting in the martyrdom of one army jawan.
