In a joint operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police successfully thwarted another attempt by smugglers to transport narcotics via drone. The operation, conducted on the outskirts of Village Dode in Tarn Taran district, led to the recovery of a China-made ‘Quadcopter’ DJI Mavic 3 Classic model and approximately 432 grams of heroin.
Acting on specific information, BSF and Punjab Police launched a joint search operation on the morning of December 23. The recovered drone, a DJI Mavic 3 Classic, was found carrying a packet of contraband suspected to be heroin, wrapped in yellow adhesive tape.
This comes just days after a similar interception on December 21, where vigilant BSF troops intercepted a suspected drone near Pakka Chisti village in Fazilka district. Following the laid-down protocol, the troops promptly reacted to intercept the drone and recovered a packet of contraband, suspected to be heroin, weighing approximately 530 grams, from a farming field near Pakka Chisti village.
The continuous vigilance and joint efforts of BSF and Punjab Police underscore their commitment to curbing smuggling activities and maintaining border security in the region.
