Seat sharing in the I.N.D.I.A bloc will be easy now after the Congress’ defeat in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, as the ego that the party carried for long has been neutralised, said SP chief Akhilesh Yadav at the India News Manch 2023, a three-day event by ITV Network. He also added that Congress’ stand on caste census, which it stooped after partition, but now they are advocating, is a welcome sign in the I.N.D.I.A bloc. Now we are united and ready to take on the zero-tolerance government, which has been reduced to zero. In this government, people are fed up with their policies and want change as they were not able to fulfil the electoral promises they made.
On speaking about the face against the NDA’s PM, Narendra Modi, he said, we have enough capable people ranging from different backgrounds and age brackets. The defeat of Congress in three states is due to their negligence towards other parties and taking charge alone. Had there been an alliance with the regional parties, the situation would have been different. Now it is the responsibility of Congress to take forward other parties in the alliance, added Yadav.
He also said that Mulayam Singh Yadav has been misinterpreted about the women’s reservation bill. He was not against the bill but wanted the inclusion of Dalit, Muslim, and backward caste women in it. Yadav said that we don’t want the seats to be reserved, but the political parties should make it mandatory to give tickets to women candidates. Commenting on the probability of Nitish Kumar fielding himself from U.P. ahead of Lok Sabha elections, Yadav said, U.P. welcomes every big leader, and only through this state can one become Prime Minister.
He also praised Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for developing the motorway network in the country, but not a single motorway was built in the U.P. by the central government. Uttar Pradesh is building the motorway at its own expense. He also commented that the Samajwadi government built a world-class motorway where transport as well as fighter planes from the Indian Air Force
exercised emergency landings on the motorway. Our architectural designs are being used by NHAI in their projects. We gave the U.P. Police one of the finest response systems and worked for the betterment of healthcare facilities in the state. But when this government came to power, these schemes were stopped by them. Now the farmers in the state are not getting enough money for their harvested crops, and the central government is giving PSUs on lease, which has resulted in a higher unemployment rate in the country. That’s why we are working to remove the BJP from power.
