Security forces launched a search operation in the Wanigam area of Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday morning, following reports of suspected militant activity in the region.
Acting on intelligence inputs, a joint team of the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police cordoned off the area, establishing security checkpoints at strategic locations in and around Wanigam.
A significant number of troops are currently engaged in comprehensive searches to locate any potential militant hideouts or activity.
