Musk’s xAI Unveils Grok-3 to Rival ChatGPT & DeepSeek

Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence startup xAI has unveiled Grok-3, its latest chatbot, positioning it as a strong competitor to OpenAI, DeepSeek, and Google. The announcement comes as the AI race intensifies, with tech giants vying for dominance.

Grok-3 Launch and Subscription Model

The chatbot is now available to Premium+ subscribers on X (formerly Twitter). Additionally, xAI has introduced a SuperGrok subscription tier, offering access via its mobile app and Grok.com.

During a livestream with xAI engineers, Musk emphasized that Grok-3 surpasses its predecessor, Grok-2, in performance and intelligence.

xAI’s Commitment to Open-Source AI

Musk reiterated that earlier versions of Grok will be made open-source once Grok-3 reaches full maturity, expected within a few months.

Introducing DeepSearch: A Smart AI Tool

A standout feature of Grok-3 is DeepSearch, a reasoning-based chatbot that can articulate its thought process. It offers functions for:

  • Research
  • Brainstorming
  • Data analysis

During the livestream, xAI demonstrated DeepSearch’s capabilities, showcasing its advanced search functions.

xAI’s Expansion and Funding Plans

To further strengthen its AI capabilities, xAI is expanding its data center capacity. Reports suggest the company is in talks to raise up to $10 billion in funding, potentially valuing xAI at $75 billion.

Last week, a Musk-led investor group proposed $97.4 billion to acquire OpenAI’s nonprofit assets, but OpenAI rejected the offer.

The Growing AI Competition

With AI advancements accelerating, xAI’s Grok-3 aims to redefine chatbot technology. The company is aggressively expanding to challenge industry leaders like OpenAI, DeepSeek, and Google in the evolving AI space.
