CEO Tim Cook assured investors that while current DEI policies remain intact, adjustments may be necessary if new legal mandates emerge.

Shareholders Reject Conservative Criticism

The meeting saw heated debates over a proposal from the conservative think tank National Center for Public Policy Research (NCPPR), which warned that Apple’s DEI initiatives could pose legal, reputational, and financial risks. Despite these concerns, shareholders overwhelmingly voted to maintain the programme, reinforcing Apple’s commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace.

Following the vote, Tim Cook addressed the gathered investors, emphasising that Apple’s core values—dignity, respect, and a culture of belonging—will not change unless mandated by law.
