On Monday, the Supreme Court rejected the Delhi Congress’ request for “First Level Checking” of electronic voting machines (EVMs). Ahead of the upcoming general elections, the Congress party in Delhi contested the State Election Commission’s actions regarding the “First Level Checking” of EVMs and VVPATs. The highest court stated that the procedure is thorough and that the parties trust it. The court added that the procedure had been adopted throughout India. More information will come later.
