Former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and AAP heavyweight Manish Sisodia is under investigation over charges of money laundering related to the excise policy. His bail plea was dismissed by the Delhi High Court, following which Sisodia went to the apex court door seeking relief.
The case has attracted wide publicity, and both parties to it have some strong points to argue. First, the position that Sisodia occupies is of a high profile; second, the nature of the offenses against him is grave. Thus, adjournment until August 5 allows detailed responses from ED and CBI, which are going to be very important in the consideration of Sisopia’s bail plea in the Supreme Court.
The proceedings; all eyes look up to the next steps the apex court is going to take in this high-stakes legal matter.
