The dates for the British Film and Television Association’s film awards event in 2019 have been set. The Hollywood Reporter states that it will take place on Sunday, February 16, 2025. The Hollywood Reporter claims that Sunday, February 16, 2025, is when it will take place.
Given the date, the BAFTA will take place precisely two weeks before the March 2 Oscar ceremony in 2025.

Once more, the British awards will take place during the Berlin Film Festival, which takes place from February 13 to February 23. Many British executives will be booking flights back from the German city on the first festival weekend.
The location of the 2025 awards event is still up in the air according to BAFTA. This year’s ceremony was held at London’s Royal Festival Hall, three weeks ahead of the Oscars.

By keeping its traditional date before the Oscars, the BAFTAs aim to uphold their position as the foremost global celebration and a dependable forecaster of Academy Award champions. The 77th BAFTA Awards correctly forecasted the success of Oppenheimer at the Oscars, while also foreseeing the overlooking of Martin Scorsese’s The Killers of the Flower Moon and Greta Gerwig’s Barbie.

The film ‘The Killers of the Flower Moon’ failed to secure any wins at both the BAFTAs and the Oscars, while ‘Barbie’ only managed to clinch a single Oscar for its original song, “What Was I Made For?” performed by Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell.

Around 7,800 industry experts belonging to the British Film and Television Association participate in the BAFTA voting process across three stages: initially nominating films for consideration, then selecting nominees, and ultimately deciding the winners. The Hollywood Reporter mentions that BAFTA will unveil the complete timeline and criteria for eligibility for the 78th BAFTA Awards in the upcoming weeks.
