Sarabjeet Singh Khalsa Maloya, a 45-year-old independent MP from Punjab’s Faridkot and the son of Indira Gandhi’s assassin Beant Singh, recently offered an update on Punjab ahead of the upcoming Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) elections. Maloya argues that it is necessary to build a new Panthic organization in the border state.

He added that once Amritpal Singh is released from jail, he will discuss this with him and begin working on it. Amritpal Singh, head of Waris Punjab De, is currently imprisoned in Assam’s Dibrugarh Prison under the National Security Act.

He further stated that if Amritpal Singh’s father makes a choice in his absence, they can continue to work on establishing a Panthic outfit in Punjab.

“I strongly feel the need for a new Panthic outfit in Punjab. I will talk to Khadoor Sahib MP Bhai Amritpal Singh about it once he is out of jail. If a consensus is reached, we can plan how to move ahead in this direction. If Amritpal’s father decides in the absence of his son, we can still start working to create a new Panthic outfit for Punjab,” Sarabjeet singh.

He further stated that the necessity for a new Panthic outfit is clear, since the Sukhbir Singh Badal-led Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Simranjeet Singh Mann-led Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) have failed to give any leadership.

Sarabjeet Singh Khalsa Maloya went on to say that if this had not been the case, neither he nor Amritpal Singh would have been elected.
