Sanjay Dutt has been removed from the sequel to the movie Son of Sardaar after his UK visa application was rejected. The sequel, Son of Sardaar 2, was set to feature both Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt. However, since Sanjay’s visa was denied, he has been replaced by Ravi Kishan.
The movie is being filmed in Scotland and also stars Mrunal Thakur. A source explained that Sanjay has faced repeated rejections for a UK visa since his 1993 arrest. Despite traveling to the US, he had never been granted a UK visa before. Ajay Devgn’s team decided to replace him with Ravi Kishan once they learned of the visa issue.
There is also concern about how this visa trouble might affect Sanjay’s role in Housefull 5, which is scheduled to shoot in London. However, producer Sajid Nadiadwala has opted to film Sanjay’s scenes in Mumbai to avoid complications.
In 1993, Sanjay Dutt was arrested for illegal possession of weapons related to the Bombay bombings and was sentenced to five years in prison. He completed his sentence in 2016.
In Son of Sardaar 2, Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt were set to reprise their roles as Billu and Jassi. The sequel was expected to introduce a new twist to Sanjay’s character, which Ravi Kishan will now play.
