Sanitation Workers Demand Old Pension; Protest In Aligarh

On Friday, sanitation workers protested in Aligarh, demanding three things, including the reinstatement of the old pension scheme.

The protest was held at the Collectorate office in Aligarh by the Uttar Pradesh Panchayati Rajya Gramin Safai Karamchari Sangh. Protesters carried posters and banners with slogans. At the Collectorate office, the sanitation workers union handed over a memorandum outlining their demands to the Chief Minister.

According to Naresh Kumar, president of Rajya Gramin Safai Karamcharis Sangha, “We are protesting the rural sanitation workers’ three-point demands. Our demands include the creation of sanitation rules, the promotion of sanitation workers, and the restoration of the old pension system. The Chief Minister was given a memorandum outlining these three demands.”

“As soon as possible, this memorandum will be sent to the Chief Minister for necessary action,” Sudhir Kumar said.
