The Mumbai police filed a chargesheet on Monday in a special court against nine individuals, including gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, already in jail, regarding the firing incident outside actor Salman Khan’s residence. The 1,735-page chargesheet, submitted in a special MCOCA court by the crime branch, comprises three volumes of investigative documents. It includes statements from 46 witnesses, recordings under section 164 of CrPC, and confessions under Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). Additionally, it incorporates 22 panchanamas and technical evidence. The incident involved two gunmen on motorcycles firing five shots outside Khan’s Galaxy Apartment in Bandra early on April 14.

The Mumbai police confirmed that audio recovered from a suspect’s phone matched the voice of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi. The police sent this audio to a forensic lab for verification. Anmol, residing in Canada and brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, claimed responsibility for the incident. Earlier reports indicated Anmol Bishnoi’s pivotal role in motivating the shooters. He arranged weapon delivery in Panvel on March 15, 2024, provided target details, and instructed the shooters to carry out the attack at the actor’s residence. The planned shooting followed Anmol’s instructions, with the shooters receiving ₹3 lakh for their involvement.
