Shiromani Akali Dal today said that Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Mann has pushed Punjab to the same spot it was at four decades ago in the issue of SYL which subsequently took the state into a black era in which the state suffered a lot even as the party asked Bhagwant Mann to be ready for debate outside his home on October 10, 2023, instead of waiting till November 1, 2023, as SAD leadership will visit his home under leadership of party President Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal.
Addressing a press conference here today at the party head office, SAD Spokesman and Legal Cell Chairman Advocate Arshdeep Singh Kler said that it was amusing to note that after reaching the state from stage, CM Bhagwant Mann was again trying to reach the stage from state as he has realized that people of the state have understood his betrayal towards Punjab because of his decision to hand over state to Delhi leadership including AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal simply to exploit Punjab state exchequer to expand AAP in other states at the expense of Punjab.
He said that stand taken by Bhagwant Mann led the AAP government on the SYL issue in the Supreme Court was a part of the record in which Punjab Lawyer has accepted that the government was willing to construct the SYL canal but opposition from opposition parties and difficulty in re acquiring land which has been given back to farmers by SAD government led by S. Parkash Singh Badal was a big hurdle in the matter subsequently after this stand SC ordered Centre government to do a survey in Punjab. He said that the SC order was officially welcomed by the AAP government and its Spokesman spoke in favor of a survey by the Centre government.
He said that when the AAP government felt that it had been exposed completely now, CM was trying to divert the attention of the people of the state by a tweet challenging opposition parties. He asked CM why to waited for November 1 as SAD leaders under the leadership of party President Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal will be visiting CM’s residence where he should be ready for debate on Punjab issues.
Advocate Kler further said that an AAP official Spokesman had told a lie to the media on the issue of the Balasar farm house of the Badal family and hotel in Gurugram by claiming that these have been allotted in lieu of SYL construction. He said that Balasar farmhouse is the property of the maternal parents of late S. Parkash Singh Badal whereas the plot purchased in Gurugram was canceled by the Congress government in Haryana and it was challenged in the Supreme Court which re-allotted that plot. He said that without going into the facts of the case AAP Spokesman had tried to spread lies only to make his claim look like a genuine one.
