TikTok star Sachin Tiwari, who had become a rage on social media for his uncanny resemblance to late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, has been roped in to play the lead role in Vijay Shekhar Gupta’s production venture Suicide or Murder: A star was lost.
Helmed by Taruna Khanagwal, Suicide or Murder will go on floors in mid-September, and it will be shot in Mumbai and Punjab.
The makers are eyeing a Christmas 2020 release. The makers claim that the film is not a biopic on actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who died on June 14.
Speaking to The Daily Guardian, producer of the film, Vijay Shekhar said, “Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide came as a shock to all of us, but it is not new. The film will talk about all the cases and ‘outsiders’ who come to accomplish their careers but end up not getting work. I am just trying to make an accident like Sushant should not happen to anyone else. Before that happened to Jiah Khan, Divya Bharti and many more.”
Giving an insight into the movie, Gupta shared, “My film is a tribute to those who have fallen victims to the nepotistic approach of the bigwigs and to expose the game the big producers play and ruin innocent, talented and promising actors. The film is not a biopic of Sushant Singh Rajput but inspired by the lives of outsiders who allegedly fall victim to Nepotism and Bollywood that prevails in the film industry.”
Delhi-based model and actor Shweta Parashar will be seen opposite Sachin Tiwari. Sachin will play Sushant›s character whereas Shweta will be seen playing Rhea Chakraborty›s character in the film.
