German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock underlined that India is assuming G20 presidency at a difficult moment and said that the ongoing war in Ukraine has brought the whole world into a difficult situation which involves India’s energy supply.
Baerbock is in the national capital and while addressing a joint press conference with Indian External Minister S Jaishankar she said, “India is assuming global responsibility in this difficult moment. Responsibility for the most urgent task of our time. We have the global impact of the brutal war of aggression of Russia against Ukraine. An illegal war has brought the whole world into a difficult situation and it has also created difficulty for your country when it comes to energy supply and fertilizers.”
“I’m delighted that India during its G20 presidency with the motto ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’ is putting a special focus on containing the climate crisis. Thus highlighting our common responsibility when it comes to climate change,” she added.

Earlier, the German Foreign Minister praised India for its positive contribution to the recently finished G20 conference in Bali and gave New Delhi credit for the G20’s more definite stance on the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
In advance of her travel to New Delhi, she said these things.
“I’m visiting India just days after it assumed the G20 presidency during the final month of Germany’s G7 chairmanship. My speeches will thus also be centred on the two most pressing issues of our time: resolving the climate disaster and preserving the international system of laws.
