Russia has launched a fresh wave of attacks on Ukraine with dozens of missiles and drones targeting Ukrainian energy systems.
According to the reports amid cold winter nights due to the attack millions of civilians were left in the pitch dark.
This week it is the second-largest attack on Ukraine in which explosions shook cities and towns across Ukraine.
Talking to the media the Mayor of Ukraine’s central city of Kremenchuk Vitalii Maletsky, said, “that heat was out for more than 200,000 customers as temperatures hovered around 14 degrees Fahrenheit (-10 degrees Celsius).
Maletsky further said, “close all windows and take all possible measures to preserve heat.”
Meanwhile, even after hours of repairs, 60 percent were left without electricity, and two-thirds of the residents were left without heat and water. Ukraine’s second largest city Kharkiv was left without power, heating, and water on Friday.
Earlier, Ukraine’s military and political leaders warned that Russia will attack the city of Kyiv. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, Russia is not serious about peace and will not pause the war.
A taxi driver in Kyiv talked about the recent attack and said, “See how we live. We are fed up! We need to hit back at Russia. Give us weapons. We have enough soldiers, give us weapons.”
However, on Wednesday blasts were heard in Kyiv’s Shevchenkivskyi district said, city mayor Vitaly Klichko on his Telegram channel.
“Explosions in the capital’s Shevchenkovsky district,” the mayor wrote.
Furthermore, in the Ukrainian capital at 05.55 am (6:55 am Moscow time) an air raid alert was declared.
