Actress Rupali Ganguly has been dealing with multiple allegations lately. Recently, some former colleagues from her popular TV show Anupamaa expressed their dissatisfaction with her, suggesting that her insecurities contributed to their decision to leave the series. Now, Rupali’s stepdaughter, Esha Verma, has come forward with even more serious claims, accusing the actress of breaking up their family. Esha is the younger daughter of Rupali’s husband, Ashwin K Verma, from his previous marriage.
Esha Verma has accused Rupali of having an extramarital affair with her father and of creating distance within the family. In an old post that has recently resurfaced on social media, Esha claimed that Rupali engaged in a twelve-year affair with Ashwin while he was still married to Esha’s mother. Esha described Rupali as a “cruel-hearted woman” who allegedly tried to separate her and her sister from their father.
Esha stated, “This is pathetic. Does anyone know the real story of Rupali Ganguly? She had an affair with Ashwin K Verma for twelve years while he was in his second marriage. She is nothing but a cruel-hearted woman who has done nothing but try to separate me and my sister, his daughters from their father.”
Esha further alleged that Rupali exerts a controlling influence over Ashwin, claiming that she shouts death threats whenever Esha attempts to communicate with her father. She expressed her frustrations, saying, “Whenever I try to call my father, she starts yelling and screaming death threats to myself and my mother.”

Esha also accused Rupali of giving her father “strange medications” and controlling his life, comparing her behavior to that of Rhea Chakraborty, who faced scrutiny during the investigation of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. Esha lamented, “Can anyone ever imagine how it is to know that your father has left yours to go start it with someone who just wanted his money and power?” She emphasized the impact of her father’s absence on her life, stating, “It’s not easy to see happy families stay together, while mine was broken…when my mom had to work two jobs all by herself and provide for both of us.”
In response to Esha’s accusations, Ashwin K Verma defended Rupali on Twitter, stating that the claims were false. He acknowledged that his younger daughter still feels pain over the divorce but clarified, “Marriages end for many reasons…challenges that were between her and me and that had nothing to do with any other person.” He expressed his desire for his children to be happy and noted that it saddens him to see anyone dragged into negativity by media narratives.

Rupali and Ashwin got married in February 2013 and welcomed their son, Rudraksh, in August of the same year. The couple had been friends for 12 years before they decided to marry.
