JAIPUR: A lecture on Nalanda Mahavihara was organised on Monday by the Department of History and Indian Culture at Rajasthan University in memory of historian Dr. G.S.P. Mishra. The Head of the department, Dr. Niki Chaturvedi, delivered a welcome speech, highlighting the achievements of Dr. G.S.P. Mishra. She underscored his contributions to intellectual studies while discussing his book “Age of Vinaya.” Dr. R.K. Baror, an assistant professor in the history department, shed light on the works, personality, and accomplishments of Dr. G.S.P. Mishra. Professor Anand Singh of the History Department at Lucknow’s Babasaheb Ambedkar University discussed Nalanda Mahavihara, emphasising that ancient rulers from the Gupta and Vardhan dynasties contributed to its development by giving donations. Dr Reema Hooja also addressed the audience and mentioned that Nalanda has been included in the World Heritage List. She considered Nalanda University’s contribution to knowledge acquisition in the ancient tradition as significant. Dr. Jignasa Meena conducted the program and thanked everyone at the end.
