At a three-day annual meeting, the RSS leadership will discuss ways to foster social harmony, inspire people to carry out their obligations, and empower them to become self-sufficient. According to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) head of media relations Sunil Ambekar, the summit will also assess the organization’s progress on its development strategy toward the centennial of its founding in 2025.
He said the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha of the RSS will be attended by more than 1,400 office-bearers, including its chief, Mohan Bhagwat, and general secretary, Dattatreya Hosabale. From the BJP, President J.P. Nadda and General Secretary (organization) B.L. Santhosh will attend the meeting. The Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha is the highest decision-making body of the RSS, the ideological fountainhead of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
At the press conference, Ambekar said, “RSS shakhas are actually centers for bringing change to society, and they work for it in their respective jurisdictions based on the study of society conducted by swayamsevaks.” The three-day meeting, organized in Samalkha in Haryana’s Panipat district, will discuss the studies done by the swayamsevaks (volunteers) over the past few years and the work done on the basis of such studies, he said.
A variety of socio-economic concerns would be covered at the meeting, “particularly how to establish a climate of social peace, urge citizens to carry out their responsibilities, and make them self-reliant,” Ambekar added. Also, it will assess how well shakhas (local meeting units) are operating and create a future road map.
