Senior RSS leader Suresh alias Bhaiyyaji Joshi emphasized the universal importance of cow protection, transcending religious and national boundaries during a gathering at the ‘bhoomi pujan’ of a new project of Gorakshan Sabha. Joshi, an executive committee member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and its former general secretary, lamented the need to advocate for cow protection in India, regardless of the nation’s historical connection to this cause.
“In the past, the Hindu community turned apathetic towards cows along with various other issues. But some people started working for ‘gorakshan’ (cow protection) in 1888 through Gorakshan Sabha,” he noted. “But it is bad that we have to undertake the task of cow protection in India.
It is painful that we have to make people understand the importance of cow protection in India. ‘Gomata’ (cow) is a very sensitive creature. Protecting the cow is in the interest of all people.”
Joshi highlighted the crucial role cows play in sustaining human life, emphasizing that they provide essential resources such as grains, vegetables, and fruits.
He cautioned against the reliance on chemical fertilizers and stressed that cow protection has global relevance.
