A three-day annual meeting of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) apex decision-making body, Akhil Bhartiya Partinidhi Sabha (ABPS), which concluded at Pattikalyana village in Samalkha town of Panipat district of Haryana on 14 March is most likely to have far-reaching implications on the state’s politics. In wake of the forthcoming Loksabha and assembly elections to be held in 2024, the Sangh is trying to hit many targets simultaneously through the conduct of a three-day program.
With the assembly elections around a year away, the RSS is expected to mobilize its cadre in Haryana to help the BJP maintain its tally, as the party could not meet expectations last time. During the ABPS meeting, several issues related to the functioning of the Sangh, including its expansion plans, were discussed. Political experts are of the opinion that the aforesaid conduct will have the most lasting impact on state politics in the future.
Apart from extending its cadre at district as well as block level, the RSS continues to eye several targets. Besides, the political experts are extracting political meaning from the meeting at the same time. In continuation to this, it is worth stating that the Congress and other opposite factions continued to keep a close eye on the aforesaid meeting of the RRS, gathering all possible information about the meeting, which lasted for three days. A senior Congress leader said on the condition of anonymity that observing the political activities of the opposite faction is a natural process in politics. At the same time, JJP is also getting an idea of whether there was any discussion in the meeting regarding the alliance.
