A wedding procession in Siddharthnagar, Uttar Pradesh, has captured the internet’s attention after videos showed guests showering cash worth ₹20 lakh into the air. The viral footage depicts a spectacle of notes being thrown like confetti, sparking discussions and mixed reactions online.

Cash Rain Turns Heads

In multiple videos circulating online, wedding guests—reportedly from the groom’s side—are seen climbing rooftops and even JCB machines to toss ₹100, ₹200, and ₹500 notes into the air. The scene quickly turned into a frenzy as villagers scrambled to collect the raining currency.

The wedding, said to be of Afzal and Arman, turned into a money-laden spectacle with bundles of notes soaring into the sky. The guests appeared to revel in the extravagance, while the crowd below eagerly collected the scattered cash.

Mixed Reactions Online

The videos have drawn varied responses from social media users. Some criticized the act as wasteful, suggesting the money could have been used to help those in need.

“Distribute the money among the poor instead,” commented one user.

“With this amount, four poor girls could have been married,” another remarked.

Others humorously called for the Income Tax Department to intervene.

This extravagant display has reignited debates about the growing trend of lavish spending in weddings, with many questioning the societal and financial implications of such acts.
