India’s captain, Rohit Sharma, is aiming to seize the opportunity to win the T20 World Cup in 2024 after the heartbreak of losing in the final of the ODI World Cup against Australia last year on home soil. India’s quest for the coveted World Cup trophy ended on a bitter note as Travis Head’s remarkable innings extended Australia’s record-breaking tally to six.

With the T20 World Cup scheduled to kick off in June, Rohit is focused on overcoming the past and capitalizing on the upcoming chance. Reflecting on the importance of the 50-over World Cup, he emphasized its significance while expressing disappointment over the team’s inability to win on home turf. Rohit acknowledged the sadness felt by the entire team and the fans but highlighted the upcoming opportunity to win the T20 World Cup.
Following India’s loss, fast bowler Mohammed Shami couldn’t pinpoint what went wrong during the match.

Rohit, along with other players, left the field distraught, but the team rebounded in a five-match T20I series against Australia, winning it 3-2.
Rohit emphasized that the players don’t need additional motivation as they are eager to leave their mark and make the most of the opportunities.

He credited the team for capitalizing on the chances they get, making the job of both him and coach Rahul Dravid easier.
After more than a year away from T20I, Rohit returned in the series against Afghanistan.
Despite initial setbacks with two ducks, he bounced back with a record-breaking 121* off 69 deliveries in the third game.

The series ended in a thrilling super over, with India emerging victorious and securing a 3-0 series win.
