The ongoing strike by roadways employees in Haryana, protesting various demands, is causing significant inconvenience to passengers. Expressing their dissatisfaction since morning on the call of the United Front, roadways employees are determined not to allow buses to operate at any level.
Passengers are grappling with issues due to the roadways strike and severe cold. While private buses continue normal operations, taking advantage of the strike, mail transported through roadways buses has also been disrupted, with dozens of packets left stranded at the Kurukshetra bus stand. Employees were seen trying to escape the harsh cold by lighting bonfires at the bus stand.
In response to the government’s refusal to meet their demands, drivers and conductors from various bus depots, on the call of Sanjha Morcha, have blocked buses since Wednesday morning. Union officials have been expressing their frustration by raising slogans against the government, citing unsuccessful meetings with the Common Front on January 11, March 10, June 23, and December 13.
Despite presenting arguments and evidence to address employee demands, the government has not implemented them, leading to the decision to block buses statewide on January 24. Drivers, conductors, and workshop employees at the Narnaul depot have fully supported the strike.
As a result of the roadways employees’ strike, passengers traveling on long routes, including Delhi, Jaipur, Chandigarh, and Jhunjhunu, are facing significant problems. Outside the bus depot, drivers and conductors have been raising anti-government slogans since morning, sitting on dharna amid the cold to voice their demands. However, despite the strike, a few buses left on different routes in the morning.
