Hours after US President Donald Trump was injured in an alleged assassination attempt, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has come out to say that all right-wing leaders were now on the radar of leftist attackers. Biswa is affiliated with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), infamous for its right-wing ideology and links to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a far-right paramilitary organization.

Taking to X, the Assam leader wrote, “Physical or otherwise, right-wing leaders across the globe are now active targets of the radical left. However, these attacks will not be able to defeat the “nation first” ideology. This is rooted in deep spirituality and inspired by the Sanatan philosophy of ‘Janani Janmabhoomi cha Swargadapi Gariyasi’. My best wishes to Donald Trump as he stands strong.” He also added hashtags #NationFirst and #StandWithTrump.
