The 10th edition of the Rajasthan International Film Festival (RIFF) will kick off featuring their blockbuster film ‘Guide’ starring Dev Anand and Waheeda Rehman. After six decades since its release, the classic will be showcased in 4K at Jaipur’s ‘The Gem Cinema’ for the first time. The screening is part of the National Film Heritage Mission, an initiative by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, to promote and preserve cinematic heritage.

Central Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur had announced the restoration of over 5,000 films and documentaries in various languages during the 54th International Film Festival. ‘Guide’ was among the films included in this restoration.

The Rajasthan International Film Festival (RIFF) is scheduled to take place from January 27th to January 31st at Jaipur’s historic single-screen venue, The Gem Cinema. In addition to screenings, the festival will feature 22 feature films, 24 short films, 14 documentaries, 2 animated films, and 4 music video albums. The 10th edition of RIFF will focus on the theme ‘Youth and Film Heritage,’ incorporating open forums, workshops, and talk shows alongside film screenings. The festival will conclude with an award show on January 31st.

Founders of RIFF, Somendra Harsh and Co-founder Anshu Harsh, revealed that this year’s festival will honor social worker and Indian traditional craftsman Ruma Devi, renowned actor Tinu Anand, Indian actress and producer Iti Acharya, acclaimed singer Ustad Anvar Khan Manganiyar, actor Akhilendra Mishra, TV actor Nandish Singh Sandhu, and other luminaries, who will share their experiences at the festival.
