The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has revealed that the polygraph and voice analysis results of Sandip Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Medical College, were deemed deceptive. Ghosh is under scrutiny in the ongoing investigation into the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at the hospital on August 9.

According to the CBI, Ghosh was informed about the crime at 9:58 am but did not file a police complaint immediately, instead providing a vague report later. Additionally, Ghosh reportedly introduced a new theory of suicide, which the CBI disputes, citing visible injuries on the victim’s body that contradict such a claim.

The CBI has alleged that Ghosh contacted Tala Police Station’s Officer In Charge, Abhijit Mondal, at 10:03 am, but the case of unnatural death was only registered at 11:30 am. Mondal, who has also been arrested, reportedly failed to promptly reach the crime scene and delayed the FIR filing, which, according to the CBI, compromised crucial evidence.

The CBI accuses Mondal of trying to protect the accused, Sanjay Roy, who was captured on CCTV entering the victim’s room at 4:03 am. The general diary entry made by Mondal was allegedly falsified, including incorrect details about the victim’s condition when found.

The victim, a PG trainee, was discovered raped and murdered in a seminar room where she had gone to rest. A Central Forensic Science Laboratory report indicated that Ghosh’s statements on key issues were deceptive. Ghosh and Mondal, who were arrested on Saturday, will remain in CBI custody until September 17. Ghosh was already in custody for a separate financial irregularities case.
