The Mumbai traffic police, in collaboration with stakeholders, have recently updated speed limits on nine crucial roads across the city, effective from Wednesday. Addressing the persistent issue of speeding-related road fatalities, the authorities have introduced new speed limits to enhance safety.
The maximum speed limit of 50 km/h has been set for specific stretches, including P D’Mello Road (between Godrej Junction and Opera House on Maharshi Karve Road, and between Haji Ali Junction and Mahalaxmi railway station on Keshavrao Khadye Marg). Additionally, a maximum speed limit of 60 km/h has been established for sections such as Bindu Madhav Chowk to Love Grove Junction on Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan Road, and between Diamond Junction and MTNL Junction at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC).
For the Jijamata Bhosle flyover at Chembur, the overall speed limit is set at 60 km/h, with a reduced limit of 40 km/h on the ascending and descending ramps.
