Renowned Padma Shri awardee and Sangeet Natak Akademi award Fusionrecipient, Vidushi Sumitra Guha, commenced the music program with three compositions. Two of them were her own compositions, while the third was a traditional bandish in Raag Shyam Kalyan. Following this, she presented two self-composed bandishes in Raag Shriranjani, skillfully blending the Carnatic and Hindustani styles, as part of her ongoing project on the fusion of Indian classical music. Concluding her performance, she beautifully presented a bhajan by Tulsidas and a bhajan by Meera, both of which were her own compositions. She was accompanied by Pt. Anup Ghosh on the tabla, Ustad Ahsan Ali on the sarangi, her disciple Shuchismita Chatterjee on the harmonium, and Renu on the tanpura. The audience was completely absorbed in her music, and Kalagram resonated with applause.
