Almost everybody had to experience stress at work or at home. Heavy workloads, burnout, and problems with partners, family, or friends are just a few of the causes for emotional fatigue.

However, Thailand has a very unique attraction wherein people can release their anger in a very safe and creative way. Local artists create custom clay statues, which look similar to someone that an individual dislikes- maybe an ex-partner or former boss- and one can punch and slap this replica. In this manner, people find a stress-free way without causing damage.

The video that circulated the internet shows some individuals punching and shouting at these statues. This shows the therapeutic nature of this stress-releasing activity. The clay figures are shaped on sturdy bases that can withstand many punches. The concept has gone viral online, praised for giving a safe but practical outlet for emotional expression.

‘Launch this in every country’

The video has gained 37 million views on X. Users’ reaction has drawn out both amusement and interest alike. One mentioned with a smile, “All fun and games until the sculpture you created ends up at your own place waiting there to be picked up.”.

“My old art teacher lets us do this in her class. I sculpted her face. Well let’s just say things did not work out fine with her after that,” said the second one.

“Launch this in every country before the election starts. Open as many kiosks of all political party figures. You will be a millionaire as soon as the election ends,” joked a third user.

While many praised the initiative, others went ahead to dismiss the action saying it would only create anger and violence. “There are so many other ways to reduce stress than punching! Giving it a human shape is also a red flag,” said one user.
