President Murmu Expresses Condolences Over Lives Lost in Reasi Terror Attack

President Droupadi Murmu and several BJP leaders have expressed their deep condolences and condemned the Reasi terror attack on a bus carrying pilgrims to Shivkhori in Reasi district. The attack resulted in the deaths of nine people and injuries to 33 others.

President Murmu shared her sorrow on X, stating, “I am deeply distressed to learn of a bus accident in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir in which a number of pilgrims have died. My condolences to the families of the victims. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.” She further condemned the terrorist attack, calling it a “crime against humanity” and emphasized the nation’s solidarity with the victims’ families.

Union Minister and BJP leader Jagat Prakash Nadda also expressed his condolences, describing the attack as cowardly and extending his prayers for the injured and the families of the deceased. “Deeply pained by the cowardly attack on the bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi, J&K, my deepest condolences go to the families of those who lost their loved ones in this heinous act against pilgrims,” Nadda said.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath labeled the attack as “extremely sad” on X, offering tributes to the deceased and prayers for the injured. He expressed his condolences to the grieving families and prayed for the departed souls.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami condemned the attack, calling it a distressing and cowardly act. He assured that the perpetrators would not be spared and extended prayers for peace for the departed souls and strength to the families of the victims.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai also condemned the attack, expressing his sorrow over the loss of lives and injuries. He strongly denounced the terrorist act and prayed for the victims’ families and the injured.

BJP leader Dilip Ghosh linked the attack to political developments, suggesting that the recent election results might have emboldened terrorists. He vowed that the perpetrators would be suppressed and assured that there was no place for terrorists in India.

The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir condemned the attack and assured that the terrorists would be brought to justice. He mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had taken stock of the situation and directed that the injured receive the best possible medical care.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Reasi, Mohita Sharma, reported that the bus, traveling from the Shivkhori shrine to Katra, was attacked by terrorists, causing the driver to lose control and the bus to fall into a gorge. Rescue operations have been completed, with the injured transported to Naraina and Reasi District hospitals. The passengers were believed to be from Uttar Pradesh. Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Vishesh Mahajan, confirmed the incident, noting the tragic loss of lives as the bus rolled down the gorge.
