Real Madrid FC has confirmed the transfer of Joselu to Al-Gharafa SC. Joselu, who started his journey with Real Madrid’s academy in 2010 at the age of 20, played a pivotal role in Castilla’s promotion to the Second Division during the 2011-2012 campaign. He was the top scorer for the team during his two seasons with the reserves, scoring 19 goals in the regular league and 7 more in the promotion play-offs in the 2011-12 season.

Joselu made his debut for Real Madrid’s senior team in 2011 against Almeria at Santiago Bernabeu, scoring within three minutes of coming off the bench. After leaving Madrid in 2012, he played in various parts of Europe before returning to Real Madrid last summer. In the 2023-2024 season, he made 49 appearances for Los Blancos, scoring 18 goals and helping the team win three major trophies: the Champions League, La Liga, and the Spanish Super Cup.

His significant contributions included scoring two crucial goals in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich and playing a key role in Real Madrid’s victory in the final at Wembley, which saw the club lift their 15th European Cup. Joselu’s impressive performance in the last La Liga campaign as the top Spanish goal scorer with 16 goals for Espanyol highlighted his return to form before his second stint with Real Madrid.

Now, as Joselu moves to Al-Gharafa SC, Real Madrid and their fans bid farewell to a player who has had a notable impact during his time with the club.
